A review on coronavirus survival on impermeable and porous surfaces

We review recent studies on fomite transmission of COVID-19, caused by the novel coronavirus. In particular, we focus survival time coronavirus solid and porous surfaces. Since aqueous phase a respiratory droplet serves as medium for virus survival, evaporation surface plays crucial role in determining time. While bulk takes few seconds to evaporate, previous titer measurements revealed that can survive several hours or days surface. This long has been attributed residual thin-liquid film which remains after drying droplet. The thin-film is governed disjoining pressure within it therefore, much slower process causes longer. However, aforesaid significantly modulated case surfaces due their typical geometries. accelerates thereby making them lesser susceptible survival. Therefore, materials are deemed be relatively safer mitigating spread COVID-19 via transmission. Using results reported research, briefly discuss possible recommendations mitigate disease.
